The University will be opening for a new academic year this weekend. It was such a long time ago that I was at uni and quite frankly, i don't miss it in the least. Maybe because I have never liked school but that will be a story for another day.
It is at university when one seems to be at the border line with being a child and becoming an adult. Its quite confussing also because part of you feels like a grown up yet another part feels like you are still a child. I have made good strong friendships as an adult but there is something about childhood friends.
A couple of weeks ago, on my way home from work, I met one of my childhood friends that I had not seen like in ages! I just heard someone call out to me only to raise my head and here she was. I remember screaming out her name as each of us ran towards each other and ended in one of those life time hugs. Now, its really out of character for me to scream and especially not along the street , but who cared. This friend of mine was one of the girls in our neighbourhood I really admired growing up. Being quite older than myself, I never really interracted or played with her at all but I knew her and she too knew me. She was pretty, carried herself with dignity and generally had a good reputation even among the parents so you too would have loved her. She was brilliant, kind and smart and was the oldest in her family. You know how admirable first borns can tend to be.
The 5-10 minutes we spent together on the street really really warmed up my heart. She told me all about her siblings and what they are upto. She told me about work, her kids as well as her nieces and nephews. She asked about my own family. It was really a heart warming experience. I went back in time and remembered my childhood and isn't God great that we have come this far. For weeks after this experience, I would still feel goose pimples every time I thought about her just like now as I write this blog. Isn't childhood friendship just sweet.
To all my childhood friends. I love you so much and you will always have a special place in my heart!

How about you
Sometimes I just cannot believe the number of times I have to change my mind about something. Well, is it changing your mind or having a change of heart. How cares any way.....

Don't you just love.....
If you are like me, there are alot more things I dislike than like. I am also quite unfair because I tend to have alot of passion for the things that I favour. Lets talk about food. By the way, I am not so gifted in terms of appetite. But again, I don't dissappoint when it comes to what I enjoy to eat.
I love coffee.I don't know whether its the aroma or taste but something in there just does it for me. Anytime is coffee time. I have been to this coffee shop once in the heat of the day and folks were busy enjoying their hot cup of coffee away. Lately, I have discovered that I can actually take sugarless coffee as well. ( I just had a cup of sugarless coffee a while ago). I find this strange because I am one of those people that take a little bit more sugar than ordinary. Don't you just love coffee.
Cake cake cake. I have outgrown alot of stuff but not my love for cake. Don't you just love cake!
I love chicken, kind of like beef, hate fish but I double love bacon!! in whatever form it is prepared.
Enough of food already. Don't you just love wild animals!!! Their sense of independence just blows me away. How do they even survive the harsh conditions out there, how do they communicate and organise their communities and do you know, they have conserved their culture and values over the ages.
I love neat places. I took this while waiting to see a doctor in the hospital. Ok, I took it really because I kept watching that door to see when the doctor would emerge and call me into the treatment room!

customer service
Yesterday I strayed into a pharmacy. Let me say I actually intended to buy some supplements but didn't really have enough cash on me. So I thought I might find out the cost anyway. I walked to the counter and inquired about the supplements I wanted. With the biggest smile she could find the girl behind the counter attended to me and went ahead to pull out one box of the item I wanted. Just then, her phone rang and by reflex she answered the call. I could tell it wasn't the kind of conversation one would like in the midst of serving a customer. She got angrier by the second and kept pounding what would have been her fist on the counter. Now, remember she still held the box of supplements in that very hand she kept hitting the desk with. I imagined by now, what should have been tablets was powder. I stealithly slipped out of the pharmacy and continued on my way. I was not ready to take supplement powder home, oh and did I mention that I actually didn't have the cash to buy it either?
