oh Doctors!

I like doctors. Infact i should have been a doc myself except that blood freaks me out. Doctors know alot of stuff and especially scary stuff. They never prepare you for bad news, they just give it to you as it is.

Yesterday I felt like I had malaria ao I went to see a doctor. oh yah, I know what malaria feels like, i have suffered from malaria for the last 30 years of my life. I also know the feeling when it is close to malaria but not quite. The doctor was a pleasant young man and after explaining how I was feeling, he advised that we do a urine test in addition to the blood test. I obliged, from experience i know that it works best when you agree with the doctor. otherwise he can choose to use too much jargon and confuse you only to ensure that he is still superior.
I was happy that the waiting period wasn't that long, mostly because i had an interesting magazine to read during the interim period. When I went back to the consultation room the doctor exclaimed "How come you have glucose in your urine!"

so I started thinking, could there be a leakage in my system but how. How come i feel normal. Then the doctor interrupted my thoughts by asking a baggage of questions: Do I pass urine frequently, Am I thirsty blah blah. I simply replied with a big NO. And I am busy thinking, there must be a mistake here. So the doctor sent me back to the lab for what should be a litmus test for glucose content in my blood. The test showed that I had low glucose level,  which is not surprising cause I had gone without lunch that day. I could see the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he got up from his seat and proceeded to the lab. And guess what, the lab results that had been delivered were for another patient!! I suppose if the doctor had been more keen and read the name on the lab sheet, he should have realised that wasn't my name. But again, since when did they test for glucose in Urine!! oh Doctors!
